Tree lands on home and powerlines
Переглядів 12 тис.14 днів тому
While we're far from being arborists, we as lineman remove trees from lines all the time. Before I started cutting you could hardly see the home through all the foliage. Many of the branches I was able to safely remove one a time, reliving much of the strain. After the moments captured in this video; I used three 10k lbs straps and come alongs to secure the tree at multiple points before contin...

    You also forgot to mention the manual pressure release button. If you are in the middle of a crimp, and your battery dies, (some people like you push the battery to its limit), you can release the pressure on the jaws without the power from the battery.

    The saw is pretty impressive, and in a case like yours where you need different tools at different times, and would prefer to not have 10 different battery systems, I can see where this is beneficial - Something to keep in mind - I haven't been able to find much in the way of details, but I ASSUME it's putting the batteries in series for 36v. Assuming that's the case, you'd want to make sure both batteries are fully charged before being inserted. But this is really a niche tool. In my experience with Stihl battery powered tools, they seem to be quite superior. But then that means another battery system. It's a balancing act. Honestly, for the kind of cutting you tend to do, this saw would probably be awesome. But this cutting 18" logs like they were doing is not something you'd typically do with such a saw. Completely unrealistic for that saws truly intended use case. If you're talking about an arborist that's chopping up a felled tree, this simply won't work unless they have a truckload of batteries to swap out every 20 or so cuts.

    I've watched a few arborists dabbling with the electric saws over the years. The industry is continuing to advance. Milwaukee in particular seems to actively solicit feed back then engineers to it. It is a very different work experience when they are opening up a new tree to fell with an electric saw. So quiet. Better communication. I'm sure residents don't even know what is occurring until they pull out the big guns to take the tree down. As for demonstrations... Really like to see known industry standard gas saws in action. The fact I don't hear the crew clearing a flooded saw is telling.

    Isn't even gas in the dam saw. See I hate it when they do promos like this. Ita like okay I get it that battery saw is never goina compared to a big boy gas power saw. But I'm sure plenty of people would love a simple light saw like this. So show how close it gets to the gas powered. Then go over uses like normal people would be using it for. Clearing random brush off a fence line of shooting paths for the tree stand etc

  • @islipfdchief
    @islipfdchief 4 дні тому

    If your in to the M18 battery system this chainsaw will work well, rich home owners and work crews. Tree service and pro loggers not the market. If you think the gas saw is loud, just wait for the chipper to start. Saw kit $900.00 plus two more M18 9-12amp $400.00 = $1300. A 70cc gas MS462 is about the same price. Husqvarna 572xp is cheaper at $1000.00. One of the "gray" gas saws was a Stihl. It didn't look or sound like MS462 with a 20"bar. MS261 50cc maybe ? $700.00 MSRP. When it hits the market we will see some real side by side races . Just never get the air of honestly when at the shows. When manufacturers are doing side by side comparison my BS meter is going off. At work (Fire&Rescue) we run Dewalt system and a battery chainsaw is one of the tools on the trucks. That said ,when the storms hit and more then a few cuts are needed out come the gas saws. 55cc-70cc 18-28" Ladders and rescue carry them all the time. Saw kits are added to pumpers as part of storm preparations. Even with all of my gas saws 25cc-91cc (12 total). I still have an EGO saw that matches the mower in the shed. It just sits for mouths with no service ready to cut when you clip in a battery from the mower. The price of this saw Just doesn't make it homeowner friendly . Most homeowners are buying $200.00 and under saws. With no training or safety gear. If M18 is your work crew tools and you need a saw bigger then the pole pruner. Milwaukee has the saw your looking for. Step right up , hand over that sweet company card and your on your way.

    I won’t say the mfg. if it was small stuff I might say ok. But as a tree guy they don’t hold up. Not even close. Let alone battery cost. They don’t last long per use and life. I have done a full breakdown gas verse electric. Gas by far is best. I could care less what I use. Gas. Electric. Or a dam beaver. Time saved. Overall cost. Upkeep. Insurance. Gas by far beats them all. If I was a homeowner it wouldn’t be worth it unless I have a lot of tree work in my yard and do it myself. Oh yaw fyi. If it breaks. Don’t think about repairing it. Go buy a new one. I couldn’t find anyone to fix it for a good price.

    This drastically outperforms the single battery Milwaukee electric chainsaws some of the crews have at my yard. We love the Milwaukee electric jackhammer, but generally prefer a gas-powered Stihl to Milwaukee's previous chainsaws. This product may change that. 🙂
